Breakfast in Bed

Getting woken up at 6am by your toddler is never what you want after you've just had another rough night with the baby, but that was our morning.  We're used to 7am mornings, but six- not so much. I sent the boys to their room to play while I rubbed the sleep out my eyes and thought how to turn this early morning into an opportunity to connect with my kids.

Connect with your children through breakfast in bed

Breakfast in bed.  This is something we do as a family way more often than we should, thus we constantly find crumbs in the covers, but despite the crumbs, there's something so special about it. Depending on you, how old your kids are, what time work begins, this may not be a possibility all the time or even today- but aim to do it once this week when none of you have to rush off.

There really is something special about all squeezing onto the bed together, staying cozy under the covers and sharing a meal.  Yes, it may be a bit chaotic but that's also what creates a memorable experience.  I love routines and eating meals at the table, but sharing a meal in bed is something different, something you're not supposed to do, thus making it a beautiful opportunity to connect with your children in an exciting way.

Don't wait until mother's day or father's day to have breakfast in bed- enjoy a breakfast with your family in bed today! I promise you will connect so closely and in such a different way than you would at the table!

Comment below. I'd Love to hear how this went! Lots of chaos and crumbs in the bed? Lots of laughter and cuddles?
